An individual who was a member of Planet Fitness was taken into custody after they were accused of strolling about completely naked in the women’s locker room. Further, they claimed that they identified as a woman, which the club did not believe. Christopher Miller, who was identified as a male by online booking records, was taken into custody on Thursday in Gastonia, North Carolina, for indecent exposure. This occurred after gymgoers said that he entered the women’s locker room at a Planet Fitness location in the area.
According to reports, a woman who was surprised when she saw Miller called the police and informed the operator of the 9-1-1 line that a male who was completely naked refused to leave the room. She also stated that Miller identified himself as a woman when he was asked to do so.
Witnesses who were interviewed by WSOC-TV stated that Miller repeatedly requested that a woman in the locker room apply lotion to each other and then get in the shower with him. This information was provided by the eyewitnesses.
Planet Fitness sent a statement to the New York Post regarding the claimed event, in which the company stated that the safety of both its employees and its customers is the most important concern for the company right now.
This current incident occurs a few weeks after the stock of the gym company began to plummet, at least in part as a result of the behavior of the company in response to a lady who allegedly filmed another gymgoer, who also identified as a transgender woman, shaving over a sink.
It has been claimed that the woman’s membership at the Planet Fitness facility in Fairbanks, Alaska, was terminated, however the individual who was shaving was permitted to return to the facility despite the fact that there was some public anger.
PF has made it abundantly clear that it permits transgender individuals to use any restroom that corresponds with their self-reported gender identification. However, any who attempt to violate the policy or harass other gymgoers will find themselves quickly kicked out of the facility.
On the basis of the claims, it appears that Miller may have been classified as belonging to the latter category; hence, he is currently facing a felony prosecution about it.
